Liz & I on Pompano Beach in Florida, right beside our training site.  We travelled down to Florida with about 14 beach volleyballs in our big Bolle duffle bag.  Whoever said that packing for a beach volleyball trip was easy because all you need is your bikini, has never travelled with us girl scouts!

Liz and I woke up on the day we were meant to leave for our first plane ride together as a team to snow, and lots of it!  It reminded us that we are Canadians playing an unlikely Canadian sport - beach volleyball.  In the end, we had to leave a day late and shorten our 1 week trip by 1 day, but it was definitely worth the flight down to Florida!!

We trained for the week with Canadian coach extraordinaire Guylaine Dumont and our Canadian friend in Florida - Cindy Phillips.  It was very windy, but also very sunny - so it was the perfect conditions for us to play some ‘real’ beach volleyball!  As the focus of this trip was training, and since it took us an extra day to get there, we did not get too much time off - but we made sure to go in the ocean and relax on the beach any chance we could. 

Our next trip is to California in April, to train with our other coach Cam Green.  We will be there for 3 weeks of training and competition, which will also include a day at Disneyland!!  Please let us know if you will be in the LA area at this time.
