Poland was the most amazing learning experience we could imagine.  After an awesome first class flight to England, we spent the day in London making sure to visit the 2012 Olympic site (visualizing ourselves playing in the Gold Medal match, of course!).  It was one of the most moving experience's of my life, one that we will repeat as often as possible en route to 2012.

Liz and I felt a bit of jitters going into our first match, where we were stacked up against the 2nd ranked Estonian team who went on to win the tournament (to note, they had competed in this tournament 2 years previously and had not made the medal rounds, only to win this year).  We unfortunately lost that match, followed by a very tight second round match to place us in 13th place in the tournament.

However, the lessons we learned with the help of our coach Cam Green who traveled with us to Poland (along with his awesome cousin Janai), have proven invaluable here in Cyprus.  Winning our first 2 rounds of competition, and upsetting the top seed, we finished a respectable 5th place out of 20 competitors.  So, in a matter of 1 week, we went from 13th to 5th, which is right on target with our goal of winning the National Championships in one month!
