After only 3 days of training outside with our California coach Cam Green, Liz and I finished 5th in the Santa Monica California Beach Volleyball Tournament! What a great way to start out our pre-season training outside! The weather was beautiful, only a bit windy and the competition was tough as well.
Our play improved as the day went on, culminating in a tight 1/4 final loss to the Polish National Team! We'll have the chance to match up against them again next weekend, as we play in our second tournament of the season. We'll keep you posted as the training and competition progresses. Please keep the positive vibes coming.

We wanted to create a video to show our fans and supporters how Canadians practice beach volleyball during the winter months, so we grabbed our gear and video camera to show everyone how it's done!

Liz & I on Pompano Beach in Florida, right beside our training site. We travelled down to Florida with about 14 beach volleyballs in our big Bolle duffle bag. Whoever said that packing for a beach volleyball trip was easy because all you need is your bikini, has never travelled with us girl scouts!
This is a photo of the Team Mizara 2007 Summer Beach Volleyball Camp. We marketed the camp only 2 weeks ahead of time, and enrolled 6 athletes. This year our goal is 50 athletes!
The winning team of the 2008 Friends and Family Fundraising Tournament, and the winner of the best team name: Tosandes (Sand between toes - To - sand - es!) The team was made up of 5 members of the U13 Peel Select Team: Kira, Rebecca, Victoria, Denise & Kim. Congratulations girls!
